Does Gear matter?

In some instances yes and no. Having good gear or capable gear makes life easier when you're on your job. For me I'm not too much into the latest gear, or having the craziest video specs that I will never use. When I pick up a camera it's all about feeling , the feeling of happiness, contentment and that feeling of seeing the smiles on either my clients face or familes when they see their pictures. We live in a day and age where life moves fast, and countless youtube channels and videos that constantly push out new gear from all the major camera companies.. well it's their job. you get talked into two of the most talked about terms in regards to camers and those are "full frame" and "APSC ". Full frame as the sensor size of a full 35mm film camera , and APSC (crop) is just 1.5 or 1.6 smaller than of full frame depending on what brand you use. However, when looking for a camera I want it to be organic and inspires me to push even more to take my photos. for almost a decade I was with sony cameras , using their full frame camers dating back to the A7II and the latest A7IV. Fastforward to last year I suffered really bad upper neck and back pain where lugging around full frame cameras it became such a burden to my physical pain and dealing with it after my long shoots. For years, I've been contemplating moving away with sony and go with a brand that inspires me more. Although Sony is a great camera brand with great lenses , and quite frankly amazing in very aspect. But it's ease of use and lack of a great color science it didn't inspire me to go out an take photos, or even try new things. Long and behold , came fujifilm. I rent the X-T5 took it for a spin and immediately fell in love. It's retro style cameras, with beaufitul colors and ease of use has made my life such a joy to shoot with this camera. There is no perfect camera, the only perfect camera is how it makes you feel when you use it. Let go of the crazy specs, and think more of the craft in hand. I love photography , and how everlasting it can be. For me a camera is a camera, and taking photos is what I love to do. But what I do love most is capturing those moments that you least expect and makes you feel happy that it was captured so you can outlive that for as long and as many times as you want. If you ever see me around with my camera, say Hi , and pose for a pic! The most cherised moments are the moments that we can relive in our hearts and nothing better than the have a photo to remind us of that speical day or event. As I sit here typing this up , I'm sure glad I was able to have many albums of my beloved cat (Taco) he passed away today at my parents house peacefully. I've been sobbing , smiling and remembering him and thanking that he's been in pretty much half of my life. Taco I dedicate this blog post and camera talk to you my friend, you were and always my favorite model. I hope you are having a blast in cat heaven and please have all the cat nip you want . Love you forever bud.
